Decorative Cement Basement Flooring
One of our clients had a large basement they wanted to turn into a family entertainment area. The remodel included a bathroom, laundry room and large game room. They needed a flooring solution that was affordable, durable and easy to keep clean.
The existing cement slab was in good shape, albeit a bit boring, so we let the homeowner know we could install the new floor as an overlay on top of the old slab. After visiting our showroom in Centreville, Virginia, the homeowners picked out a stamping pattern that mimics the look of wood. Our concrete technicians press the form into the cement while it is still wet. The resulting pattern mimics the look of wood planking; it’s almost impossible to tell it’s not the real thing.
We added a final hard coat, in a contrasting color, that really helps the stamped wood grain look real. We always seal our concrete projects to protect the cement from the elements and make the surface resilient to spills, stains and water. We can come back every couple of years to reseal the surface if the client desires.
